Jesus Moth Found - but I Still Hate Bugs
Jesus is in east Texas. Err...rather, the Jesus moth was discovered on an RV trailer in east Texas.
I heard about Jesus on a cheeto and on the back of a family pet. It seems like every couple of weeks Jesus' face is found on another everyday object. I remember when I was younger there was an office building near my home in Orlando that reflected the image of Jesus.
People would gather around it all throughout the day and leave flowers and light candles. I thought it was so strange that people would spend so much time and effort to look at a dirty window with windex streaks that made the outline of a man with long hair if you squinted and then tilted your head to the left.
I don't care to see Jesus on a bug, food or a rock.
I want to see Jesus in others and I hope people see Jesus in me. In the past few years, my goals and my outlook on life have changed. I've lived so much of my life with me in the center but now I really want Jesus to be my center. I have so many issues I'm working on and no doubt they will take time, effort and God's grace to resolve, but when my life is over here on earth I hope when someone describes me they'll say,
"I saw Jesus in her."
I'm sorry but I hate bugs, even if Jesus is on it.
What do you think? Do you see Jesus on the moth? What about in others?

The problem (beyond the sheer idiocy) with these things is that people always see the Westernized, artistic picture of Jesus on them. We have no idea what He actually looked like, but it most likely wasn't that.
And, Jesus' physical appearance was not striking anyway:
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
(Isaiah 53:2, NIV)
The point of Jesus was who He was. You are absolutely correct in your assessment. When people say they "see" Jesus in someone, they mean His character. Our life goal should be to become more like Him as He lives His life through us.
Good, interesting post.
I think that anyone who looks to signs to save them, to pray to, or to setup as a mini-idol...is a fool.
I think I'd rather see Jesus in people. In fact, I know I would.
@Be_A_Revolution@xanga - I second that notion!
I like, luff gawd.
if i were you, i'd look at those streaky window jesuses as much as possible, because you're not seeing him or meeting up with him anywhere else.
i agree, i'd rather see Jesus in other people. but it is interesting, nonetheless, to see the image of Jesus' in moth's, snack food, etc. i wouldn't pay money for any of the items on ebay though...
Good pastor! Great job to him for taking an opportunity to get some Truth out there on prime tv too! He makes me proud. I don't put much stock in the "sightings of Jesus" on things. I mean, moths are cool...that one looked huge...but I usually can't see the image. But the focus should never be...wow, this is an amazing moth, or an amazing grilled cheese sandwich, but, wow, what a great God Who would try to communicate to me through a moth, or a grilled cheese sandwich. God can do mighty things, and He wants to be a part of our daily lives. He'll do anything to let us know that He is deeply in love with us.
I suppose the true question is, if we kill this moth, will it rise to life again in 3 days?
I'm tired of people using Jesus' likeness to make "spiritual points" or to advance their own agendas. I mean, what does Jesus get out of it? Huh? What, I ask you?
Effective immediately, I am representing Jesus in all cases where His image is used on products or items not officially authorized by Jesus Christ, Inc.
Our attorneys will be in touch.
You forgot about Jesus Toast.
Isn't it mostly Catholics who leave flowers and candles and flock to go see these images of Jesus and Mary? I'm with you on the whole "making it into an idol" thing. Why on earth would Jesus choose to appear on a grilled cheese sandwich? He wouldn't. That's not his way.
I have seen Jesus in people....by their love, by their grace, by their actions. That's the best way.
do they really have nothing better to do...
Like people have been saying.
It looks like a man.
Unless you have seen Jesus.
I dont think you can say it looks like Him.
Wow. I can't believe someone actually NOTICED that. I've seen many moths, cheetos, pieces of toast, and buildings in my time, but I never look at one and say, "Now, let me see if I can literally see Jesus in this," or "Hey, that looks like a face on it! I bet it's Jesus!" So weird!
Yeah, it looks like a person's face (on a bug), but am I the only one to think it looks rather ugly?
I think the moth is kind of cute and furry, though. Now, if they found a Jesus centipede, I would be more disturbed.
There's more than Jesus on the moth...Invert the image and there is another guest appearance:
