ROMOT: Favorite Vacation in the US?
Hi everyone! Happy Friday! We hope you've all had a good week. It's time for our weekly ROMOT (Revelife Outreach Meet Others Thing), where we encourage everyone to meet each other through comments and friending.
Here's how it works - we ask a question, and after you comment, drop by the site of the commenter above you and say hi, friend or sub to them! They'll appreciate that you took the time to drop them a line.

Today's question is- With the rising prices of gas and airline tickets affecting travel outside the US, where is your favorite place to vacation in the US?

San Antonio really is a lovely place
You've got the River Walk and the Alamo (though it's about the size of your local Taco Bell).
my best so far would have to be Lake Tahoe CA/NV for snowboarding :)
It wasn't the cheapest for the family of five i come from, my parents took us to Florida about two years ago and we had a blast!
My favorite place I've ever been is the Glenwood Catwalk in western New Mexico. Spectacular.
Lafayette, Indiana. It's the city of Purdue University. You stay at a very trendy Bed and Breakfast called the Perrin House right in the historical district of town. There are some great shops, fun places to visit, great restaurants, and a Wolf Park nearby where you can actually howl with wolves at sunset...and if you're lucky, watch a real buffalo hunt. It's a very neat weekend getaway. I highly recommend it!
My favorite vacation of all time would be for my family - Disney World and for my hubby and I alone - London, although you said in the US so then I'd have to say New York or Chicago. On the cheap side of things, our VERY fav thing to do on a budget is camping. We're going to Oklahoma next weekend and I can't wait!
Hey-
I don't think it is very cheap for a family of 5 but I would have to say camping, fishing, and sightseeing in Montana and surrounding states. My favorite sightseeing place is Yellowstone National Park. My family use to go every summer but we have kind of stopped because we can never get everyone together and plus we haven't had the time or money lately.Well, it's on the opposite coast from me, but I love San Diego! I want to road trip back out that way sometime. However, if I stay close to home, the Smoky Mountains are always a safe bet for an adventurous or laid-back getaway. Highlights: curvy, scenic roads through the mountains, plenty of hiking opportunities, Cades Cove, too many camping spots to count, and there's several towns/cities worth visiting on the east side, such as Asheville and Cherokee.
Hm, my family does not usually vacation to the same spot more than once, so I've mostly been each place just once. I really enjoyed our skiing trip in Steamboat last year, though. Beautiful place. We've also gone to Pawley's Island, South Carolina a couple of times for family reunions with my step-dad's family. It's very nice there though.
Being from Texas though, it takes forever to drive anywhere other than Texas, so in-state, I like to drive around and see things I haven't seen.
for now,I like to vacation in California. Recently I have drove across the country from Cali to New York. I would like to see more the good old USA before designating a spot as my favorite spot to travel to.
I haven't traveled too much, but I would have to say that if you want to relax Kauai is the place to be. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I can't really vacation here, but if you like doing the touristy thing, this would be the place to do some great sightseeing.
Everyone come to Hawaii! It's like Cancun, except without the threat of diarrhea.
South Florida! Ft. Lauderdale, more specifically. This very multi-cultural city has plenty to do... and plenty of ways to relax. Whether you want to go, go, go or just chill on the beach - you can do it!
Also, having lived there, I happen to know where the locals go - which is always better than touristy spots. ;)
I have only been to America one and that was this summer.
I only saw a few cities since this was a coach tour, also on the tour we went to Canada
I would say Boston
I LOVE the beach!! But not the gulf the gulf is gross. I think my favorite beach that I can really remember is Myrtle Beach or Ocean City, MD. The pacific is nice but cold. hehehe
but one of my favorite vacations has always been DISNEYLAND :)
I like recreation....but how do we, as Christians, justify blowing money on our own 'happiness' when others are being tortured and starving? This post seems regressive and materialistic, but I guess we all have our weaknesses. Consider yourselves the stewards of God's treasure, and spend it wisely.
What with six people in the house, we tend to vacation by going to relatives' houses all over. The best is Niagara Falls.
I'm always in awe of that amount of water thundering down...
disneyworld is always a tradition in my family :) never gets old.
