Follow up on Michael Guglielmucci: Television Interview
by mr oakHere's a video of one of the few interviews with disgraced pastor Michael Guglielmucci talking about why he deceived so many faking his cancer.
It's been several weeks since the breaking of the news. How do you think this has impacted people's faith thus far? Do you think any good can come about this?

I don't know of anyone whose faith was personally impacted for the worse by this. I think that part of that though is b/c I'm over here in America...I would htink that the negative impact would be far greater in Australia.
That is super freaky, I am literally watching that now on a totally other blog.

i think that God can take this horrible thing and use it for good. if this guy gets help and fixes everything, he'll have a powerful testimony and he can help a lot of people.
Wow, I hope things get better for him...
as despicable as it is, the one lady at the end was right when she said that everyone sins. and this was definitely a sin that was expanded on and impacted many people...but i agree with droftreeology. it will get better.
Disgusted by what this man has done? Welcome to what God feels every time we sin. Cast the first stone.
he's sicker than he ever pretended to be...
Our churches need to be a place where the sick can come and be helped. Hopefully he will find the love of Christ and be transformed.
@Ash - Thank you for saying what I wanted to.
We need to point to him not as someone who is to be thrashed through the streets or vilified; but as a real sample of the messy people we ALL are. He may always have a problem with telling the truth, are we going to hate him for that?
Scripture says it best: If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 1Jn 4:20
I think we need to remember that this sort of thing has happened throughout the history of the Christian church except now, of course, media can spread both fame and notorioity wide. We do need, though, to concentrate on the thousands of great Christians who are living exemplary lives than the few who let the side down. I heard yesterday of a wonderful lady who is doing a tremendous work in Africa at great (genuine!) personal sacrifice. She is the sort of example I want to follow.
It is disheartining when someone in a high position goes through something like him, but we must always look to God more than man. I pray and hope that he work through his issues just like all of us need to do.
It has been so good -i go to the church that his father is pastor at and i am excited as what the enemy meant for Michael's down fall God will use for good. I think there is alot more people in the church suffering from hidden sin in the sexual area and as it is not as accepting and it is a "dirty" sin then i am hoping that this now can be an area now the church can help the flock and it can be in the open and dealt with in peoples lives so they can be set free instead of struggling with it and trying to act like they have it all together and then walking away from God forever.
