    I'm Loved And Sometimes I Don't Even Know It!

    The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
    he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy;
    he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zeph 3:17 KJV

    Since I'm single and not a parent, there are a lot of things regarding our relationship with Christ that I cannot always understand or relate back to things in my life. During this time I depend on the relationship of my parents as an example.

    My parents aren't overly romantic in public so when they tell stories of their courtship or their wedding I like to make a note of it. I prayed that God would reveal to me the verse above to me in some way and today on the subway it all came together.

    The story is about my parents. One day during their courtship my dad dropped by my mom's home to visit her. She was sitting outside scrubbing the pots and pans after dinner and singing to herself. My grandma was going to let her know that my dad was there to see her but my dad said no and sat on the bench watching my mom as she cleaned and sang to herself - quite unaware that she picked up an audience.

    He took delight in seeing her be her even if she was cleaning and not looking quite perfect. He loved her anyway and even if she didn't recognize it at the time she was being loved.

    I know that God loves me, but I'm amazed at the depth of his love. I love the Amplified Bible's version of the verse

    The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty
    One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you
    with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His
    love He will be silent and make no mention [of past
    sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing. [AB]

    I may not always be aware of it but he loves me to such a degree that he is willing to "rest in his love", to forgive me of my past transgressions and to take delight in me as his child. I don't have to dress up my life and be perfect for him, even when I'm doing my everyday mundane tasks he still watches over me and he still showers me with his love.

    I am constantly loved with the greatest love ever known and sometimes I don't even know it!

    How is God showing His love for you this week?

    You always have the most touching posts. With each one, my mind takes a trip down some avenue of my past...thank you!

    God is showing his love for me this week and always through my children, especially my 4-year-old daughter, Mercedes. I believe if nothing else He gave her to me to teach me about the a child-like love, faith, and forgiveness. I believe personally that He sees us this way and perhaps that is why it is so easy to forgive us of our sins. Think about it..Who couldn't forgive a little child of 4 or so? In fact, He tells us to come with a "child-like faith" and we are referred to not only His sheep, but as well His "children" throughout the Bible. Just my thoughts, however.

    Thanks again for your always delightful posts!

    I agree..........this week he sent a message to me through a friend of mine. the message was simple........It was to believe in him. Have faith............."devil, let go of me, I'm God's property!!!!!!!!!"

    I don't know why, but this made me think of a song lyric.

    "Look into your heart and you'll find love, love, love,"

    I'm sure not what Jason Mraz was going for, but I definitely think it applies.

    Thanks for the post! =)

    I've had to deal with this myself, the issue of God loving me personally.  I know he does...but not really.  Thank you for posting this; more validation that he wants me to work with my issue.  --Laura

    @JUSTAVAPORHERE@xanga - thank you ... it blesses me that you were blessed :)
    child like faith ... yeah, there is something to be learned from children ...

    @Cygnus33@xanga - it's very difficult to understand God's love to us especially when we are so accustom to the world's version of love, or even hollywood's love ... I hope you make it through and understand that he completely loves you ... (i know it's something I keep reminding myself daily).

    When my world falls apart, which it has this week, God gives me a support system that I didn't know I had. He brought to me someone to comfort me and knock back some sense into me. In the midst of everything, while my world is in chaos, He still tries to teach me more about Him and myself with every situation. God's love is amazing!

    I enjoyed the story you told about your parents - what a lovely image!  And so true of how God loves us.

    The snow actually is one way :)  My heart loves it, and a low point this past week, it just snowed... and when it snows, no matter where I am or how I feel, I can't help but smile.  Corny as it may sound, and it may not even be Biblical, but there are times when it feels like it snows just for me - just because I like the snow.
    Another way would be the encouragement of others, even though they may not realize that I need the encouragement.
