Great words are spoken in silence
Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son's son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.
And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.
--JUDGES 8:22-23, KJV
Gideon spoke the right words there; but afterwards, he did something that became a stumbling block to Israel: he made an ephod that became an object of worship for Israel.
We could always say the right words, but actions weigh more.
I remember Jesus' parable of the two sons. Their father asked them to work in his vineyard. The first son said he WON'T GO, but afterward repented and went to work. But the second son said he WOULD GO, but afterward changed his mind and did not go at all.
There's a very familiar saying, "Action speaks louder than words." It may now be a worn-out expression, but it holds truth in it.
We don't obey by words. We don't care by words. We don't believe by words (as it is written, Faith without works is dead). We don't love by words.
I believe that great words are spoken in silence before the eyes of those who see. And God knows whether we are sincere enough to mean what we say and do what we say.

What would make a perfect day?
Any of the following would be a perfect day for me, though I haven't experienced all of them (I hope I would in the near future):
~ A solo retreat. It'll be hard for me to have no day like this. This is a day to be away... away from work, away from home, away from everything, away from the world, and be close with the Lord Jesus Christ.
~ Bonding day with my parents and younger siblings.
~ A day spent to help somebody, a humanitarian organization, or a certain group of special people in need.
~ Playing the guitar and singing songs of praise and worship with fellow Christians.
~ Giving free tutorial lessons to poor students, young and old, on computers, language and reading, basic English (using the Bible as reference and teaching tool), guitar-playing, etc.
~ A Dare Day. You go to a hospital and visit a sick stranger. Or go to an orphanage and share something with the kids. Or go to a home for the aged and share your time with one or two old people. It's just about extending your hand to strangers in need.
~ Travel and see Nature.
~ Reading Christian literature, inspiring biographical sketches, anything that could inspire me and deepen my spiritual thoughts and strengthen my faith.
~ Self-studying. I always want to learn something new or improve skills I have acquired.
~ Play tennis. Even with a borrowed tennis racket.

~ Write and write and write. I love writing, but Free Time seldom hangs out with me.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

Discover Revelife and Xanga
This is my first post, and let me dedicate it to what caught my attention: Revelife.
I've been searching for a place to stay, heartwrite something and share something with the few people who take interest in whatever and whoever I am. I'd like to have a quiet place, a hideaway. So I went down the Net Road and searched for a sojourner's place. WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, Vox, Multiply...actually, I checked out every available free blog site that appeared on search engines. Xanga was one of the last sites I checked out.
I signed up a few days ago. Then I thought I'd see my blog today, so I checked Xanga again.
I noticed that Xanga is quite different. The topics are sensible. It is clean-looking and well-organized. Then I discovered Revelife.
I think Revelife is a great place to stay. I am a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, and it's really amazing when you discover something that's Christianly. The topic that caught my attention was:
posted by miss marigold. A great post it was, and reading some of the comments, I got fascinated by the way they interact. I am not a sociable person, so maybe I'll just enjoy reading others' blogs and try to interact at times with a comment.
As for the striking topic, my answer is: Christianity is a myth to unbelievers but an amazing reality to believers like us. The confusion brought by the various denominations and organizations--and most of them even labeling each other as this or that--can trouble someone who is spiritually unstable, but I believe that one tactic to make someone get lost in Truth is to put along the way countless truths to deceive those who are searching for It. If there are counterfeits everywhere, surely there's a genuine Truth.
My big thanks to Xanga and Revelife for my space here. Que Dieu vous benisse.
